My apologies for not writing sooner. I am sure you can relate to those times in life where you get so busy you hope you remember to brush your teeth and shower everyday. So blogging was stretching it! I have been working on custom pieces for weddings and personal collections in my spare time but lately I have had little. We lost Zach's mother, Randa, to a long battle with breast cancer in late January. Zach and I decided to make Natchez our home and move into the home he grew up in. The move was complete February 28 and he started working at the law firm March 2. We still have a long way to go on the house but we have taken our creativity to the walls and room by room we are repainting, taking down wall paper, and redecorating. Zach has had overwhelming success with his photography and we are working on a few statement walls in the house either showcasing his photos or my paintings. I guess you can say our home will be anything but ordinary and the house is an amazing blank canvas! The beautiful home was built in 1889 on the oldest corner in Natchez. We are with-in walking distance of the restaurants, shops, and even Zach's law firm on Main Street. We are also a few blocks off the beautiful Mississippi River. So have I convinced you to come visit yet?? We will post " before" and "after" pictures to the blog soon. Right now it seems like we just have a lot of "before" pictures, but that will change with time!
I am excited that I now have a designated "art studio" since we transformed the sun-room into my creative palace. With 2 large windows overlooking the courtyard that allow an abundance of natural light, God only knows what I will be inspired to paint next! Stay tuned!
Above is a set of old iron gates that Zach found behind the house. We cleaned them up, sanded them, painted them, and hung with in the foyer of our home. Paired with a trunk and a nice green plant...it almost feels like you are in a garden! :) Enjoy!
